For Word 2010 and 2013, go to File Options Customize Ribbon Keyboard Shortcuts All Commands (in left list) Color: (in right list) - at this point, you type in the short cut (such as Alt + r) and select the color (such as red). (This actually goes back to 2003 but I don't have that installed to provide the pathway.). Select a new font size. Change the Font Color: Select the text you want to change, click the Font Color Set a Tab Stop:button list arrow, and select a new color. Paragraph you want to add a tab stop to, then Apply Bold, Italic, or an Underline: Click the Bold, Italic or Underline button in the Font group on the Home tab.

In Microsoft Word, a user can change the properties of any text including font type, size, color, and making it bold, italic or underlined. The following illustration shows the Format bar, and a description of the tools it contains.

In Word 2003 or earlier, if you do not see this bar when you open Word, click View, then Toolbars, and make sure Formatting has a check next to it.
The font settings placement changed after Word 2003, with all the settings in the Font section on the Home tab of the Ribbon. An example of the font settings in Word 2016 is pictured below.
Changing font type
To change the font type within a Microsoft Word document, follow the steps below.
- Highlight the text you want to change.
- Click the down arrow next to the font field on the format bar or Ribbon. (If you want to change the font to bold, italic, or underlined, click the B, I, or U on the format bar.)
- After clicking the down arrow for the font, you can select from each of the installed fonts on your computer. Click the font you want to use and the highlighted text changes.
If you do not highlight any text, the font type changes as soon as you type new text.

- Highlight the text you want to change.
- Click the down arrow next to the size box on the format bar or Ribbon. Often, the default size is 12, as shown in the above example.
- After clicking the down arrow for the size, you'll have a selection of different sizes to choose. Some fonts may not scale properly, so they may have limited size options.

Font Color Shortcut Word Mac Shortcut
I've loving the markup capabilities of Preview in Mountain Lion and was wondering if there was a way to quickly change colours (colors) of the highlighted text via keyboard shortcut?
I found this thread for Snow Leopard, but couldn't figure out how to get it to work for Mountain Lion:
It seems there are some shortcuts possible, for instance when I click the Markup dropdown box if I type 'g' it will highlight Green, 'b' it will select Blue etc. But it won't actually select these options.

The quickest way I've found is the right-click after highlighting which brings up a contextual menu to select the colour of that highlight. How do you create a zip file on mac.
Ideally I'd press a shortcut combination to change the highlight colour before selecting what to highlight. Does anyone know of a way to get this functionality?
